CHOOSING THE RIGHT LINEN APRON
I make three styles of apron, all practical and all multi-functional. But I do like to think of them at times as having more specific roles in the home. Needless to say, everyone has their own preference, so this guide intends to help shed a little light on possible use rather than to pigeonhole them. I intend to help those people who are undecided make an informed choice.
The Bistro Apron
This is the all-round kitchen working apron. The bistro apron with its full front protection has proven over time to be a popular choice for both men and women in the kitchen. For a great number of people, this design represents the very idea of a kitchen apron. It’s a great mainstay apron and a good choice if unsure when choosing a gift.
The CROP linen bistro apron finishes at an elegant length and has wonderfully generous ties that allow you to fasten at the front. The double pocket also allows you to stow your herb snips and cuttings. Our neck ties are fixed at an average length but if you have a specific requirement, I can custom cut the neck strap length for you, at no charge, contact me. The CROP linen bistro apron is available in both flax and natural.
The Cafe Apron
Once the meal is prepared and cooked, the cafe apron is the perfect choice for serving. Without a necktie, it pulls on and off quickly between plating and serving each course and doesn’t mess up your hair or catch on your glasses in the flurry. The apron finishes at the same elegant length and has the same generous ties and pockets as the bistro apron. It has a wonderful French cafe feel about it on both men and women. The CROP linen cafe apron is available in both flax and natural.
The Crossover Apron
The crossover apron is what I like to think of as the household or craft apron. It has no fastenings and can be worn all day without discomfort. It feels like a smock and is delightfully comfortable. It is perfect for general household chores like pressing and folding your precious linens. Or for freely reaching high into the apple tree when collecting apples. Great also for craft activities like wheel throwing ceramics or collecting and arranging freshly cut flowers. Comfort is its defining characteristics but it also looks particularly chic over tights. A pocket on either side of the body adds to its charm and encourages a casual, relaxed posture and look. The CROP linen cafe apron is available in both flax and natural.
